DAY 2 – ORGANIZE YOUR FRIDGE FOR HEALTHY EATING

Set yourself up for success

Start by completely clearing out and organizing your fridge and maybe your freezer and pantry as well, since those are also places where we store food.

A well

organized

fridge is a

simple tool to

help you make

healthy, clean

decisions. 

The best method is literally removing everything from your fridge, deep clean it, and then put back everything organised and also check expiring dates before you do so.

Keeping food spaces organized will allow us to easily find ingredients and make sure those ingredients are being used and not rotting in the back of the shelf. Everything in your refrigerator should help you meet your wellness goals. So keep that in mind, when putting your ingredients back to your fridge.

My tips:

• Use storage containers; great for storing your leftover food, or keeping prepped vegetables/fruits fresh for longer

• stay away from using a lot of plastic bags for storage because they are easily lost in the fridge (and bad for the environment anyways, so if possible avoid using them in general and use reusable ziplock bags instead)

• be a minimalist: think about how much you really eat, what you really need and when you will actually use the ingredients you are buying. 

• group similar ingredients together

• fill up most of your refrigerator with veggies, fruits and other products made of real ingredients.
