How to Stay Physically and Mentally Healthy in Coronavirus Quarantine or Isolation

During this time it is especially crucial for maintaining you physical and mental well-being. Eating a balanced diet, exercising and getting good sleep are the pillars of a healthy and successful lifestytle, but it’s not always easy and social distancing complicates things even more. How are you supposed to eat right when you’re bored at home and just want to eat everything? How can you work out when you are stuck at home and don’t have any equipments or motivation? How can you sleep when you’re anxious about…well…everything?

Here is a little guide how to stay healthy while in Coronavirus Quarantine or Isolation:

Nutrition:

Plan your meals and make a list before you go to the grocery store. Instead of buying ready meals, and canned food, maybe try to buy fresh, you can still freeze that later. Now that you have plenty of time at home, you can experience to cook fresh and nutritious food.

If you do buy canned or ready food, choose those low in saturated fat, salt and added sugars. Look for foods with only a few ingredients. Avoid artificial colourings, additives like flavour enhancer (msg) and added sugar.

Home cooked meals are rich in nutrients that boost energy levels, improve concentration, and overall mood.

When you feel good, you will achieve better results both in and out of the office.

It’s also important to stock up some healthy snacks at hand that are rich in proteins. Try fruit with some nuts, or nut butter, healthy bars.

Exercise

Gyms are closed, but it’s still okay to walk, run or bike outside as long as you keep a safe distance from other people or you can also work out at home.

It’s very important that we continue to be active rather than stay in the house and sitting on the sofa, scrolling on social media, or watching TV.

The main thing to remember is fitness does not need to be complicated. You can still get good benefits from keeping it simple.

Sleep

Sleep deprivation can cause many health problems, like chronic fatigue, depression, hormonal imbalance, etc.

In order to be more successful at what we do, we need to find a balance. Create a sleeping schedule and stick to it.
